International Computer Security Day

Starting back in 1988, International Computer Security Day falls on the 30th November every year.

International Computer Security Day

The day came about when technological progress brought new concerns about privacy and security; thus, the day is dedicated to keeping your online data safe and secure.

International Computer Security Day is a great reminder that we all play a role in computer security and that we can’t just rely on third party programs alone to do the job. Regularly updating antivirus software, using strong passwords and encrypting data are all measures we can take on our own.

Figures show that 69% of organisations don’t believe computer security threats can be blocked by anti-virus software alone and 65% of companies with over 500 employees have users who are never prompted to change their passwords.

Although Computer Security Day is a day that occurs once a year, we recommend that everyone does a security check up regularly throughout the year to ensure the security of their security systems.
