Windows 11 Latest – March 23 KB5007651
After installing “Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus antimalware platform – KB5007651”, you might receive a security notification or warning stating, “Local Security protection is off. Your device may be vulnerable,” and once protections are enabled, your Windows device might persistently prompt that a restart is required,”. For those unaware, KB5007651 was released for Windows 11 version 22H2 and older, to fix known security issues. However, it is possible that this introduced some problems.
Microsoft’s advice: You don’t need to restart the device if you have already enabled Local Security Authority (LSA) protection and restarted your device at least once, as these are false positives, and users can safely ignore or dismiss warning notifications and ignore any security alerts.
The good news is that Microsoft has acknowledged this issue, and it’s a promising step, which means that Microsoft is actively working on a fix.
